Trains for everyone

WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, 300 S Burhans Blvd Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Displays including HO scale model railroad, trains for kids to operate, historic railroad equipment, artifacts and photos
COST: Admission is $4; .50 cents for ages 4 to 12 and free for ages 3 and younger

Alpaca Farm Days 2012

WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm
WHERE: Washington County Agricultural Education Center in the Kennel Palace, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Seven local farms will be on hand with alpacas and products. There will also be vendors, seminars, demonstrations, door prizes and snacks
COST:  Free admission

Living History

WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm
WHERE: Fort Frederick State Park, 11100 Fort Frederick Rd, Big Pool
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Members of the recreated 1st Virginia Infantry will garrison the fort
COST: Admission is $3; $2  for ages 6 to 12; free for ages 5 and younger

Rural Heritage Museum

WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday and Sunday 1 to 4 pm
WHERE: The Rural Heritage Museum is located at 7313 Sharpsburg Pike north of Sharpsburg
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: All museum  buildings will be open including the cabins and village today from 1 to 4 pm. Plans include having a garden activity in the German four-square garden, learn about soil and composting and a children’s scarecrow craft.

Princess and Superhero Event

WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, 4 to 6 pm
WHERE: Church of the Holy Trinity, 17805 Oak Ridge Drive, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Church of the Holy Trinity preschool program invites children, 7 and younger, to don the costume of their favorite princess or superhero and participated in themed activities and games at their event. A disc jockey, music, games, crafts, light refreshments, princess and superhero “training” and raffles are planned.
Be sure to bring along a child’s size long sleeve t-shirt of any color to be cut and fashioned into a cape. All proceeds will be set aside for new outdoor play set.
COST:  Admission is $5 per child and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Titanic

WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 2 pm
WHERE: Discovery Station, 101 W Washington St, Downtown Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Visit a replica of Titanic’s third class cabin at 2pm.
COST: Free with paid admission of $5 to $7, free for ages 3 and younger

Free Movie

WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 7 pm
WHERE: Bridge of Life, 14 S Potomac St, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Showing this week is “We Bought a Zoo” Set in Southern California, a father moves his young family to the countryside to renovate and re-open a struggling zoo. Come and enjoy the movie along with free popcorn and drink.
COST: Free
