Trains for Everyone
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, 300 S Burhans Blvd Hagerstown.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Displays include HO scale model railroad, trains for kids to operate, historic railroad equipment, artifacts and photos
COST: Admission is $4 50 cents for ages 4 to 12 and free for ages 3 and younger ,

Canal Boat Tours
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturdays and Sundays 10:30 am, 12:15, 1:30 and 3 pm through summer
WHERE: C&O Canal Williamsport Visitor Center, 205 W Potomac St Williamsport
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Chesapeake and Ohio National Historical Park offers canal launch boat tours from Cushwa Basin to Lock 44
COST: Admission free, first come, first serve

Williamsport C&O Canal Days
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm
WHERE: Bryon Memorial Park and other areas in Willaimsport
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The 36th annual Williamsport C&O Canal Days is different – it will be spread out into different areas of the town to accommodate different activities and events.

WHEN and WHAT TIME: The gates open at 10:30 am both days and the fun runs from 11 am to 10 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
WHERE: The event will be held in the City Lot off N Potomac St.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: As a tribute to the area’s German heritage and a fundraiser for scholarships for Hagerstown Exchange students program with our sister City Wesel, the City of Hagerstown is proud to present Augustoberfest ,

All the fun begins with a Volksmarch at 8 am Saturday hosted by the Piedmont Pacers. There will be plenty of food, beer, music, dancing and songs

Spud Fest
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday
WHERE: Washington County Rural Heritage Museum, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Bring your kids out and let them play in the dirt as they help to harvest the potatoes that were planted in the spring.


The Harvest starts at 11 am and there will be prizes awarded to children, by age groups for finding the smallest and largest potatoes. There will also be a homemade potato chip demonstration, and an artisan bread baking at the outdoor bread oven from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. You can also check out Taste of the Garden with Master Gardeners from 1 to 3 pm at the German Four Square Garden.

Cemetery Tours
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturdays in August at 7 pm
WHERE: Antietam National Cemetery
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Tours will be led by historian John Schildt

The Butterfly Man
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 2 pm
WHERE: Discovery Station, 101 W Washington St , Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Dave Kaplan “The Butterfly Man” will present “Summer Butterflies”
COST: This special program is free with  Regular admission to the museum is $5 to $7.

Artillery and Infantry Demos

WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday and Sunday
WHERE: Antietam Battlefield, Sharpsburg Pike, Sharpsburg
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Living History volunteers will portray infantry and artillery units and demonstrate loading and firing the cannons

Everybody’s Day
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday  noon to 5 pm
WHERE: Pen Mar Park, off Pen Mar High Rock Road, Cascade
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Ray Birely Orchestra, Hub City Lindi-Hop Dancers, Potamac Indian Dancers  with WJEJ Radio Remote with Lou Scally   schedule to perform
COST: Admission is free

Free Concert

WHERE: Peter Buys Band Shell City Park
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: By Faith Trio with soloist Harry Ryan will perform to conclude the city’s gospel concert series
