Here are some fun things to do in Washington County this weekend…

Trains for Everyone
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, 300 S Burhans Blvd Hagerstown.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Christmas O gauge display will open this weekend Displays include HO scale model railroad, trains for kids to operate, historic railroad equipment, artifacts and photos
COST: Admission is $4;  50 cents for ages 4 to 12 and free for ages 3 and younger

Farm Toy Show
WHEN and WHAT TIME: 6 to 9 pm on Friday and 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday
WHERE: Washington County Agricultural Center, Md. 65, Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Leon Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund will host a Farm Toy Show. They will have displays by various collectors of farm toys, trucks and farm memorabilia. Vendors will also have toys for sale and there will be a kiddie pedal pull at noon on Saturday.
COST: One day tickets at $2 for adults, $1.50 for seniors and free for ages 10 and under. A two day pass is $3. And all proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund.

Come Fly with me
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 11 am
WHERE: Discovery Station, 101 W Washington St, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Pat Beard and Mary Licht will present “Come Fly with Me” for children in grades three, four and five
COST Program is free with admission Tickets: $$7 adults; $5 seniors (over 55) and military, Ages 4-17 $6

WHEN and WHAT TIME: They will have one show on Friday at 7:30 pm and 2 shows on Saturday at 2 and 7:30 pm.
WHERE: The Academy Theater, 58 E Washington St, Downtown Hagerstown.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Goretti Players will present “Macbeth” , the story of a Scottish nobleman who has aspirations of becoming the King of Scotland.
COST:  Tickets are $10

Kris Kringle Holiday Craft Show
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Community College ARCC Arena, 11400 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and check out the 29th annual Craft Show which will feature Hand-Crafted products, Gourmet Food items & more from over 250 craft vendors!  Once again this year they will have pictures with Santa and Santa’s Children’s Shopping village for the kids with fun gifts from 50 cents to $6.

They will have free parking, free golf cart shuttle, free gift wrap, free door prizes and free package holding area.

They will also be accepting donations of non perishable food for the Parent Child Center of Hagerstown.

COST: $1 admission with total door proceeds to benefit the Easter Seals Adult Day Services of Hagerstown.


Christmas Comes to Hagerstown
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Monday
WHERE: Hagerstown Town Center – Downtown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: 4 to 8 pm – Holiday Faire off the Square – with various vendors on the 4 parts of the square.


5 pm – Tree lighting Ceremony in the Public Square in City Center. With music by North Hagerstown Brass Band, South Hagerstown Brass Quintet and Caroling by Girls Inc. Free face painting; Free hot chocolate and refreshments by Bulls and Bears Restaurant and Free popcorn from Otterbein UMC. The actual tree lighting will take place at 6 pm and then Santa arrives. This event is sponsored by the City of Hagerstown and Volvo Powertrain.


7 pm – Hollyfest at the Maryland Theatre- this is a free holiday concert, no tickets are necessary and will feature the talents of 11 local school and Children’s groups with Special appearances by Lou Scally, Dean of Magic, Santa and Miss Maryland Joanna Guy. This event is sponsored by the City of Hagerstown, the Columbia Bank, Hagerstown Trust Division and Antietam Cable Television/Disney Jr.

COST: Free
