Here are some fun things to do in Washington County this weekend…

Trains for Everyone
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, 300 S Burhans Blvd Hagerstown.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Christmas O gauge display are still available to be seen. Displays include HO scale model railroad, trains for kids to operate, historic railroad equipment, artifacts and photos
COST: Admission is $4;  50 cents for ages 4 to 12 and free for ages 3 and younger

Model Train Sale
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 9 am to 2 pm
WHERE: Washington County  Ag Educational Building – 8313 Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Hagerstown Model Railroad Museum will hold its winter model train sale. Sale only no layouts or displays. Proceeds benefit Hagerstown Model Railroad Museum
COST: $4 per person – free for children younger than 12

Winter Festival
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 10 am to 1 pm
WHERE: Widmeyer Park, West Main St, Hancock
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Activities for all ages including snow sculpting contest, hat contest, ice craving, cake walks, live music by Mike Kligerman, prizes, hot foods, beverages, marshmallow roasting, horse drawn sleigh (weather permitting)

Freezing on the Frontier
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm
WHERE: Fort Frederick State Park, 11100 Fort Frederick, Big Pool
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Costumed guides will show how soldiers survived the winter during the French and Indian War.
COST: $3 per car – out of state residents $5 a car

Chocolate Festival
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 11 am  to 3 pm
WHERE: Trinity Lutheran Church, 16 N Main St, Smithsburg
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and enjoy – lots of chocolate confections, silent auction, pie eating contest, Valentine’s craft fir children, lunch, cake walk, chocolate cakes and live auction.  All proceeds will benefit the Trinity Lutheran Church Youth Work Camp to help Hurricane Sandy victims.
COST: Free but bring money to shop and eat
