Signs of Hope Barnival | |
WHEN and WHAT TIME: | Saturday starting at 3 pm |
WHERE: | The Old Red Farmhouse, 13031 Spickler Rd, Clear Spring |
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: | This is a fundraising event and will feature a petting zoo, kid’s games, an evening movie in the barn., concessions and basked goods. Artwork created by the deaf children at the orphanage run by Bianerges Dear Initiative will be sold along with crafts of local artisan. Rain or Shine |

Grand Opening with new exhibits | |

To Garrison the Fort | |
WHEN and WHAT TIME: | Saturday 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday 10 am to 3 pm |
WHERE: | Fort Frederick State Park, 11100 Fort Frederick Park, Big Pool |
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: | Experience life at the fort during the French and Indian War as members of the recreate Joshua Beall’s Company garrison the fort. Musket and cannon firing presentations, hearth cooking demonstration, a uniform and clothing talk and children’s’ military drills |

Living History Weekend at Antietam | |

WHAT YOU’LL SEE: | Volunteers will portrait Tyndal’s Brigade of Union Soldiers. They will have weapon and tactics demonstrations |

A younger and more reluctant Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, sets out on an “unexpected journey” to the Lonely Mountain with a spirited group of Dwarves to reclaim their stolen mountain home from a dragon named Smaug. Free popcorn and drinks too |

Garden activity and Artisan Bread Baking | |
WHEN and WHAT TIME: | Saturday 1 to 4 pm |
WHERE: | Washington County Rural Heritage Museum, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, South of Hagerstown |
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: | Washington County Master Gardeners will give gardening advice in the four-square garden. They are planting a 72 foot sunflower garden and will share the history of sunflowers. Children will plant sunflower seeds in pots for Mom. The Bread Guild will be baking heirloom artisan bread at the outdoor wood fired oven beside the German four square garden. This month’s bread is rosemary and olive oil and raisin spice. $5 per loaf and it will be ready around 2 pm. |
