Here are some fun things to do in Washington County this weekend…

Trains
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, 300 S Burhans Blvd, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and check out the trains for kids to run, historical railroad equipment, artifacts and photos
COST: $5 adults, 50 cents ages 4 to 12 and free for ages 3 and younger

Barge Bash
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, June 29th
WHERE: Hancock
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and check out the Annual celebration of the heyday of the C&O Canal Starting with the Barge Dash at 9 am at the Hancock Middle/Senior High. 10 am is the time for the barge viewing and at noon the barges are placed in the Canal followed by the nautical parade at 1 pm.
COST This event is open to the public to watch and free to the speculators

Faire off the Square
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, June 29th 9 am to 2pm
WHERE: Parking lot of the Elizabeth Hager Center, South Potomac St, Downtown Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Stop by from and enjoy this month’s event with open air farmers and artisan market. All proceeds benefit the Community Free Clinic.

Mountaintop Heritage Days
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, June 29th
WHERE: Fort Ritchie, Cascade
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The morning starts at 9 am with a parade from the National Book Network’s parking lot in Blue Ridge Summit, PA to Fort Ritchie in Cascade. On base they will have food, crafts and business vendors, a Salute to the Military, children’s games, Boating on Lake Royer, Civil War living history encampments, World War II living history, car show and fireworks at dark.
COST Admission is free but parking is $5 per car.

Inside the Moller Pipe organ sounds
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 2 pm
WHERE: Discovery Station, 101 W Washington St, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Saturday Plus will feature Moler historic organ sounds.

Pen Mar Dance Concert
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday 2 to 5 pm
WHERE: Pen Mar Park off Pen Mar High Rock Road, near Cascade
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Headliners   will provide music for ballroom dancing

Picnic in the Park
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday 3 to 9 pm
WHERE: Shafer Park in Boonsboro
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Hosted by Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, May Weather, Seven X Seventy to perform. Bring a dish to share and Donations of cans of food welcome.

WHERE: City Park’s Peter Buys Band Shell, off Virginia Ave, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Selections include “Anchor’s Aweigh March”, “Faust”, “Tiptoe Through the Tubas”. John Pursell will be trumpet soloist

WHEN and WHAT TIME: 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, through Saturday, July 27
WHERE: Washington County Historical Society, The Miller House, 135 W. Washington St., downtown Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE:  “Made in Washington County: Our Rich Industrial Heritage” is the story of businesses in this area and how they have survived and thrived.
COST Cost: $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students; free for children ages 14 and younger
