Trains
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, Satruday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, 300 S Burhans Blvd, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and check out the trains for kids to run, historical railroad equipment, artifacts and photos
COST: $5 adults, 50 cents ages 4 to 12 and free for ages 3 and younger

Free Movie outside
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday 8:30 pm
WHERE: St John’s United Church of Christ, 211 E Cumberland St, Clear Spring
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The movie “Wreck It Ralph” will be shown outside in the church yard. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. The movie will be moved inside if it rains

Monster Trucks
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday at 8 pm, Saturday – pit party 4 to  6 pm with racing at 8 pm and 2 pm on Sunday
WHERE: Hagerstown Speedway, 15112 National Pike, west of Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Racing and freestyle competitions by monster trucks Higher Education, Grave Digger, Black Stallion and others.
COST $20 reserved tickets Friday and Saturday only; $15 general admission; $5 children’s tickets, pit party pass $10

Battle of Funkstown
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 9 am to Dark and Sunday 11 am  to 2pm
WHERE: Funkstown Main Street and Funkstown Community Park
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: One street battle, two field battles, sutlers and craft vendors, games for kids food and fireworks are on tap as we remember Funkstown’s part in the Civil War

Children’s Experience weekend at Pry House Field Hospital
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm

WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Bring the kids and check out the Civil War era toys, games and crafts

WHERE: Washington County Agricultural Education Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, Sharpsburg
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Country Fair livestock show, rodeo, tractor pulls, good fun, great fun for the whole family

Free Movie
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday at 7 pm
WHERE: Bridge of Life, 14 S Potomac St, downtown Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The movie team will present “Jack the Giant Slayer” The ancient war between humans and a race of giants is reignited when Jack, a young farmhand fighting for a kingdom and the love of a princess, opens a gateway between the two worlds. All movies are shown on a large projection screen with high quality sound in the old Maryland historic theater located in downtown Hagerstown right off the square.  Rated PG

Storyfest in the Park
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday noon to 4 pm
WHERE: City Park’s Peter Buys Band Shell, 501 Virginia Ave, Hagerstown.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Washington County Free Library will be hosting an afternoon of storytellers, Featured storytellers are Ann Griffith, Diane Macklin, Fanny Crawford and Jon Spelman, joined by WCFL’s children’s librarian Mr. Jeff and the Authentic Community Theater.
COST Admission is free, bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Open Plane Day
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday 1 to 4 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Aircraft Services, 14235 Oak Springs Rd Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Climb into the cockpit of a C-82, C-119 Flying Boxcar, PT-26 WWII Trainer and the 1928 Kreider Reisner KR-31 Bi-plane. All of those planes were built in Hagerstown. Historical displays and films are located inside the large aircraft. See airport activity up close with planes taking off and landing.

WEEK DAY Fun – Fort Frederick Demos for Kids
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Weekdays 10 am t o 5 pm through Monday Sept. 2
WHERE: Fort Frederick State Park, 11100 Fort Frederick Rd Big Pool
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Fort Frederick presents activities from the daily life of French and Indian War Soldiers, such as flag raising and lowering ceremonies and musket firing practice. Special drills for children

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:  “Made in Washington County: Our Rich Industrial Heritage” is the story of businesses in this area and how they have survived and thrived.
