WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and check out the trains for kids to run, historical railroad equipment, artifacts and photos

Back to School Bash
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday and Saturday 10 am to 9 pm
WHERE: Valley Mall, 17301 Valley Mall Rd
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: At the Valley Mall’s School Dayz Mall Bash there will be a fashion preview at 6 pm on Friday, and fashion show at 2 pm on Saturday. They also have performances by the Alex Hilton Band at 730 on Friday and Pocket Deep on Saturday at 730. Be sure to check out the interactive displays form businesses and nonprofits both days.

Working with the Worms
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday 9 to 11 am
WHERE: City Farmers Market, 25 W Church St, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Children ages 2 to 10 are invite to join the Master Gardeners to learn about composting, make a mini compost bin, explore composting with red wiggler worms and have fun with “worm” painting.

Open Airplane Afternoon
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday 2 to 5 pm Rain or shine
WHERE: Hagerstown Aviation Museum, 14235 Oak Springs Rd, off Basore Drive, near Hagerstown Regional Airport, north of Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: To coincide with National Aviation Day, the museum is holding an open house. Visitors can climb aboard airplanes built in Hagerstown, including Fairchild C-82 and Fairchild C-119 “Flying Boxcar” and look at a 1928 Kreider Resiner KR-31 biplane.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Fort Frederick presents activities from the daily life of French and Indian War Soldiers, such as flag raising and lowering ceremonies and musket firing practice. Special drills for children
