Trains
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, 300 S Burhans Blvd, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and check out the trains for kids to run, historical railroad equipment, artifacts and photos
COST: $5 adults, 50 cents ages 4 to 12 and free for ages 3 and younger

Red White and Blue Concert Series – US Navy Sea Chanters
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday 6:15
WHERE: Hagerstown Community College Alumni Amphitheater, off Robin wood Dr, east of Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The US Navy Sea Chanters will perform choral selections
COST Free

Corn Maze
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Opens Saturday August 31 They will be open weekends in September and October Hours: Fridays 5-10 pm / Saturdays Noon-10 pm / Sundays Noon-5 pm with a Special hours on Labor day September 2, 2013  Noon to 6 pm
WHERE: Celebration Farm, 17638 Garden View Road, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Hagerstown Corn Maze reopens this Saturday, August 31st with 3 mazes to choose from this year. Guests may complete all or just one of the mazes for the same price. All proceeds go to local faith-based non profits.
COST Admission is $6 for ages 13 and up; $3 for ages 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and under.

Maugansville Pride Day
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, August 31st 9 am to 4 pm
WHERE: Maugansville Ruritan Club Community Park, 18007 Maugans Ave, Maugansville
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and celebrate community and enjoy a fun family friendly day . The event will feature wonderful food (my favorites are the soup and the Fire Company’s hand cut French fries, craft vendors and free entertainment. This year they have added a Cow Drop at 1 pm.
COST Admission is free but bring money to eat and shop.
   
Families in Nature Holiday Weekend
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, Sunday and Monday .
WHERE: Fort Frederick, 11100 Fort Frederick Road , Big Pool
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Explore the natural side of Fort Frederick State Park., Self guided and staff led outdoor natural activities for all interest levels and ages throughout the weekend
COST $3 per carload; $5 out of state

Astronomy Program
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday at Dusk
WHERE: Fort Frederick, 11100 Fort Frederick Road , Big Pool
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Learn the basics of sky navigation and telescope use while looking through the park’s 10 inch Dobsonian reflecting telescope. Visitors may bring their own viewing devices. The event might be rescheduled if it is cloudy.
COST $3 per carload; $5 out of state

Pen Mar Concert Series
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday, 2 to 5 pm
WHERE: Pen Mar Park, off Pen Mar High Rock Road, near Cascade
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Holders will provide music for ballroom dancing

WEEK DAY Fun – Fort Frederick Demos for Kids
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Weekdays 10 am t o 5 pm through Monday Sept. 2
WHERE: Fort Frederick State Park, 11100 Fort Frederick Rd Big Pool
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Fort Frederick presents activities from the daily life of French and Indian War Soldiers, such as flag raising and lowering ceremonies and musket firing practice. Special drills for children
COST $3 carload, $5 for out of state cars

Sharpsburg Ghost Tour
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Wednesday 6:30 pm
WHERE: Starts at Town Square, Sharpsburg
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Ninety minute walking tour of Sharpsburg with a guide in period tour costume
COST There is a cost and advance reservations are required
