Here are some fun things to do in Washington County this weekend…

The Great Boonsboro Carnival
WHEN and WHAT TIME: thru May 31st
WHERE: Shafer Park in Boonsboro.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The kitchen opens nightly at 5 pm and they have free nightly entertainment -2 shows each night at 7 and 9 pm. The schedule is Friday May 30 Staff Infection and fireworks at 11 pm, Saturday May 31 Lost Highway.
COST Free admission bring money for games, rides and food
Double Days – Williamsport Heritage Event
WHEN and WHAT TIME: 10 am on Saturday May 31 and Sunday June 1st
WHERE: Doubleday Hill, off West Salisbury St in Williamsport
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The focus of this event is Doubleday Hill and Riverview Cemetery and will start at. They will have living history demonstrations, tours, and speakers giving talks about he Union occupation of Williamsport during the Civil War. There will be demonstrations on how to do tombstone rubbings and how to clean tombstones as part of the event.
COST: The event will be held at and is free and open to the public

Model Trains
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Railroad Museum, 296 S Burhans Blvd, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and check out all the trains.
COST Admission is $5 and 50 cents for ages 12 and younger

Block Party
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday May 31 1 to 4 pm
WHERE: Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, 22514 Cavetown Church Rd, Cavetown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come for complimentary lunch, games and entertainment.

Saturday Plus at   Discovery Station
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, May 24th at 2 pm
WHERE: Discovery Station, 101 W Washington St Downtown Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Telescope dedication – this weekend they will be dedicating the 12 foot telescope that was donated by the Tri-State Astronomers as a memorial to Jim Stanicek, a volunteer and member of the Tri-State Astronomers
COST Free with paid admission fee

Family Blues Picnic
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday June 1 from noon to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown City Park Band Shell
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Let’s round out the Blues with a Family Blues Picnic. Performers will be The Tonehounds, Lower Case Blues, Moondog Medicine Show, and Doug MacLeod. This is the final part of the Western Maryland Blues Fest.
COST This is a free event and is open to the public

Pen Mar Park Concerts
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday 2 -5 pm
WHERE: Pen Mar Park, off Pen Mar High Rock Road in Cascade
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: This week the Helmit Licht Combo will provide music for listening and dancing
COST Free but donations accepted
