SPECIAL 2014 Fireworks!

MH900444636Once again this year there are going to be TONS of places to watch fireworks. Here is the list we have

Thursday July 3

Independence Day Eve event- Plumb Grove Mansion, intersection of Martin Street and Broadfording Rd, Clear Spring. Festivities at 6 pm; fireworks around 9:15 pm. Free admission – music, games for children, food for sale and house tours. For more information call 301-842-2342

Boonsboro’s early Independence Day celebration- festivities begin at 5 pm Shafer Park, 37 Park Drive in Boonsboro. Music by Rohrersville Band, activities for the kids and food for sale by local non profit organizations. Followed by a fireworks display at dark.  Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Rain date is Sunday July 6th. For more information go to www.boonsboro.md.us

Friday July 4

Celebration of Ransoming of Hagerstown 150;s anniversary. 3 pm Fairgrounds Park’s grandstand building,  Cannon Ave, Hagerstown – this is a free event. Ransoming of Hagerstown artifacts from the Washington County Historical Society’s Civil War collection will join other exhibits arranged by the City of Hagerstown to mark the 150th anniversary of the Ransoming of Hagerstown in July 1864. Ransom notes and ledger of those who paid the ransom will be shown. Fireworks opening ceremonies 6 pm; 630 pm entertainment; 930 pm fireworks.

Fourth in the Park: Have a picnic in the park then enjoy a free patriotic performance by the Williamsport Community Band at dusk and fireworks at 9:15 pm. Live music will start at noon  Bryon Memorial Park, E Potomac St, Williamsport. For more information go to www.williamsportmd.gov

Saturday July 5

Salute to Independence – The Maryland Symphony Orchestra’s annual patriotic concert at 730 pm followed by fireworks at the Antietam National Battlefield, MD 65, Sharpsburg Pike, Sharpsburg. This is a free event. Pieter Bickford will serve as master of ceremonies and the MSO will be joined by guests from the US Marine Band, including Capt. Michelle A Rakers, guest conductor and Gunnery Sqt Mark Jenkins, euphonium, and vocalist Rob Tudor, director of vocal activities and music department chairman at Shepherd University.
