Pop Up Shops

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

August 22 -24 Friday from 4 – 9 pm, Saturday from Noon- 8 pm and Sunday from noon to 6 pm. 

WHERE:

Downtown Hagerstown

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

The Downtown Movement group has gather a group of great companies to come to downtown Hagerstown this weekend, and set up temporary stores to sell their wares and services.

19 pop-up shops are set to open .Here is a list of the stores – Repurposed & Refined, Wisteria Manor, Ten Thousand Villages, City Artist Gallery, Krumpes/Bustin Boards, Misty Meadow Creamery, Knob Hall Winery, Weyira Olive Oil & Vinegar, The Fine Arts Company, Gordan’s Grocery, Steampunk Sourdough, S The Boutique, Farmers Market, Ruff Fitness, Lumber Llama Yoga, Structural Elements, Artisan Market, Rooster Moon Coffeehouse, We Do Kitchens.

Canal Boat Program

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

Saturdays and Sundays through Labor Day

WHERE:

Williamsport C&O Canal Visitor Center, off US 11 in Williamsport

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

Come check out the one hour interpretive program at 1030 am, 12:15 pm, 1:30 pm and 3 pm

Free but reservations will be taken on the day of the tour

Model Trains

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm

WHERE:

Hagerstown Railroad Museum, 296 S Burhans Blvd, Hagerstown

Regimental Colors

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

Saturday August 23 and Sunday August 24 noon to 4 pm

WHERE:

Washington Monument State Park, off Alt Rt 40, west of Boonsboro

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

Discover the importance of regimental flags during the Civil War and learn about their symbolism and history

French and Indian War Muster

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

Saturday, August 23 from 10 am to 4 pm; Sunday August 24 10 am  to 3 pm

WHERE:

Fort Frederick State Park, 11100 Fort Frederick Road Big Pool

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

French, British and American Indian re-enactors assemble for a weekend of 18th century living history demonstrations and battle re-enactments Period crafts and vendors will also be available

Williamsport C&O Canal Days

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

Saturday August 23 and Sunday August 24, 2014

WHERE:

Bryon Memorial Park and along East Salisbury and North Conococheague Streets in Williamsport

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

With artisans, crafters, food vendors and more this is an event for the whole family.  They will have a kids open mic from 10 am to noon on Saturday at Desert Rose Café; Dean Burkett Magic Show at 11 30 on Saturday in the Pavilion in the park; Country Classics performance from noon to 5 in the Pavilion at the Park.  More activities on Sunday as well.  And don’t forget to stop by the book sale in the lower level of the Library.

C&O Canal Days at Cushwa Basin

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

Saturday, Aug. 23, and Sunday, Aug. 24 from 9 am to 430 pm.

WHERE:

C&O Canal Cushwa Basin visitor center, 205 W. Potomac St., Williamsport.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

C&O Canal National Historical Park  and the Town of Williamsport are celebrates C&O Canal heritage Activities include: visitor center and trolley barn open; nature display at trolley barn; visits to Lock House 44; canal boat tours; and canal dress up and photo time in the trolley barn; “Meet the Mules” on Saturday; canal music by Matthew Dodd on Sunday; and canal family reunion at the trolley barn on Sunday. Activities take place at or near.

Augustoberfest

Simple Transport 7

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

Saturday August 23 from 8 am to 3pm

WHERE:

Hagerstown Fairgrounds Park, 370 N Cannon Ave, Hagerstown.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

Come and check out the Volkswagen vehicles at this air-cooled Volkswagen show and swap meet. They will also have vintage motorcycles and bicycles and the BMX track will be having an open house too.

COST

Admission is $5 for spectators, free for ages 12 and younger. If you bring a car, entry fees are $10 per vehicle including driver; $10 vintage motorcycle pre-1985; $5 for bicycles; $15 for swap spaces and $15 for used car spaces.

Spudfest

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

Saturday, Aug. 23 10 a.m. to 3 p.m

WHERE:

Washington County Rural Heritage Museum at Washington County Agricultural Education Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

During Spudfest , potatoes will be harvested by horse-drawn plow and picked up by children for prizes. Other activities: Historic village buildings, machinery demonstrations, potato-themed lunch, children’s games and experiments, German four-square garden and artisan bread baking. Potato picking begins at 11 a.m.

C&O Canal Cruise-in Car Show

WHEN and WHAT TIME:

Saturday August 22 10 am to 3pm

WHERE:

Milestone Farm, 10702 Hopeful Road, Williamsport

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

Sponsored by Mason-Dixon Region Antique Automobile Club of America. All cars welcome, no judging. The Bowman Museum with 60 new and restored cars and trucks from 1903 to 2014 and more than 1000 model vehicles will be on display. Model T shuttle from parking to museum. Food and drinks will be sold. Proceeds benefit Hospice directed to Doey’s House. Held in memory of Jone Bowman
