Dickens Village Christmas
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, November 8th 8 am to 2 pm
WHERE: Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 E Franklin St Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Needlework, wooden items, food, Christmas ornaments, handmade wreaths, new and used items, homemade muffins, candles and other treats
COST Free admission
Christmas Bazaar
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, November 8th 8 am to 2pm
WHERE: St Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Dr Williamsport
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Handmade crafts and holiday items, including wreaths, floral arrangements, decorated trees, ornaments, snowmen, crocheted and knitted items, novelty items, homemade candles and more. Breakfast and lunch will be available
COST Free admission bring money to eat and shop
Santa is coming to town
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, November 8, at 9:45am
WHERE: Valley Mall, Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come join the fun as Santa, Mrs. Claus, and elves arrive by train at his Holiday home in Center Court. Meet Ava, our live Elf on a Shelf, the Snow Princess, and Cully the Conductor. Each child visiting Santa will receive a gift. Free tickets will be distributed to enter to win a Santa photo package, a $25gift certificate from Toys R Us, or a $25 mall gift card. There’s a good possibility for snow in the mall … don’t miss it!
COST Free to visit Santa but there is a fee for pictures
Try Hockey for Free Day
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, November 8th at 8 am
WHERE: Hagerstown Sports and Ice Complex, 580 Security Road, Hagerstown.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: As part of Come Play Hockey Month – the Hagerstown Youth Hockey Association will host a Try Hockey for Free event. This event is designed to provide kids, between the ages of 4 to 9, a completely free experience to try youth hockey. A limited amount of equipment is available to borrow. Our top coaches will be on the ice to assist your child in learning the basics. Your son or daughter does not need any previous skating or hockey experience.

Mason Dixon Barbershop presents “All Aboard”
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, November 8th at 7 pm
WHERE: Kepler Theatre at Hagerstown Community College, off Robinwood Drive, east of Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: All songs will be sung in barbershop-style harmony.
COST Tickets at $12 at the door, $5 for ages 18 and younger

Canal Quarters Program
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday, November 9th noon to 3 – tours leave 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 pm
WHERE: Lockhouse 49, mile 108.7 on the C&O Canal near Clear Spring

Canal Quarters is a joint partnership between the C&O Canal Trust and the C&O Canal National Historical Park. It provided for the rehabilitation of historic lockhouses located along the C&O Canal. Each of the six lockhouses currently in the program were restored and furnished with authentic furnishings depicting a specific time period between 1830-1950. Each lockhouse tells a story of a period of Canal history, and guests are able to spend up to three nights in the Quarters for a nominal fee.

Lockhouse Theme: 1920s, heyday of the Four Locks community

Open House Entertainment: National Park Service Ranger Kelly Fox will guide walking tours of the historic structures that made up the community of Four Locks. Tours leave at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Old German Christmas Customs
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Sunday November 9th 3 pm
WHERE: Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, 201 N Potomac St Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Learn about traditions from different regions of Germany, make an ornament and eat German Christmas specialty sweets.
COST $7 per person – seating is limited, reservations are recommended.
