Here are some fun things to do in Washington County this weekend…

Thanksgiving Dinner
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Thursday November 27th
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Just in case you don’t have any plans for tomorrow’s (November 27th) Thanksgiving dinner – check out these locations that will have a free meal

•          The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission will host a free meal at 1130 am at Trinity Center at 125 N Prospect St, Hagerstown. Those interested in volunteering may call 301-739-1165

•          The annual Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner, a community partnership event, will be held from noon to 4 pm at the Robert W Johnson Community Center at 109 W North Ave in Hagerstown

•          St John’s Lutheran Church at 141 S Potomac St Hagerstown is hosting a free dinner from noon to 3 pm.

•          The LGBT Friendly Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be from 1 to 3 pm at New Light Metropolitan Community Church at 40 w Church St In Hagerstown . Doors open at noon and the meal starts at 1 pm

•          Boonsboro Bible Baptist Church is serving a free Thanksgiving dinner to all who attend on Thursday from noon to 4 pm. Take-out meals will be available. The church is at 6741 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. For more information, call 301-432-6154.

•          Williamsport United Methodist Church at 25 E Church St, Williamsport will host a free dinner from 2 to 6 pm. The menu includes turkey and all the trimmings

Trains of Christmas
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, Saturdays and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Railroad Museum, 300 S Burhans Blvd Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Enjoy the visions, sounds and snows of Christmas, past and present, on an “O” gauge railroad featuring the trains of Lionel, MTH, Williams, Weaver and others. Also trains for kids to run, HO and O scale model railroads

Pop up Shops
WHEN and WHAT TIME: encore weekend November 28-29
WHERE: Downtown Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Don’t forget to visit your favorite downtown retailers and restaurants this holiday season. The Downtown Movement, in partnership with the City of Hagerstown, is hosting another Pop-Up Shop event with a holiday focus. Browse unique gifts from local businesses the.

Small Business Saturday
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday November 29th
WHERE: Small Business across the country
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The story of America is written in every small business. It’s written in the cafes where we meet our first loves. And in the boutiques where we buy our babies’ clothes. On Nov 29, be there for the businesses that are there for you to help write the next chapter. So be sure to check out all the small businesses in Washington County from the shops in Downtown Hagerstown to the one of a kind restaurants all over the county.
TrainFest Fall 2014
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, November 29th from 9 am  to 2 pm
WHERE: Washington County Agricultural Education Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and check out all the model trains for sale
COST Admission is $5 per person, free for ages 11 and younger

Saturday Plus at Discovery Station
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Saturday, November 29th  11 am
WHERE: Discovery Station, 101 W Washington St Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Mr. Magic, Dean Burkett will present “Turkey Magic”
COST Free with Museum admission of $5 to $7
