Trains of Christmas
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, Saturdays and Sunday 1 to 5 pm
WHERE: Hagerstown Railroad Museum, 300 S Burhans Blvd Hagerstown
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Enjoy the visions, sounds and snows of Christmas, past and present, on an “O” gauge railroad featuring the trains of Lionel, MTH, Williams, Weaver and others. Also trains for kids to run, HO and O scale model railroads

Rural Heritage Village by Candlelight – Children’s Frolic
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, December 5th6 to 9 pm
WHERE: Washington County Rural Heritage Museum, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: take a trip back in time at the Rural Heritage Village while you learn about local holiday customs for children and traditions from early settlers, village decorated by candlelight, caroling, storytelling and a wagon ride, and the hearth will be lit.
COST The event is open to the public and is free

Hagerstown City Park lighting
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday, December 6th  6 to 830 pm
WHERE: City Park
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: the Christmas lights will be turned at Hagerstown’s City Park. This event will run from and will also include a scavenger hunt. Inclement weather date is Saturday December 7th.
COST Event is open to the public and is free.

Williamsport Christmas Parade and Park Lighting
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday December 5th 7 pm
WHERE: Williamsport
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Parade of bands, floats and fire trucks will parade through Downtown Williamsport from the Water Tower to Bryon Memorial Park – ending with lighting of the lights at the Park.
Christmas Tree Lighting with Santa Claus
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday December 5th 6:38 – 8 pm
WHERE: Shafer Park pavilion 4, 37 Park Dr, Boonsboro.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: A small parade will enter the park with Santa on a fire truck. The mayor will light the town tree as visitors listen to live music and tour the park.  There will be cookies and hot chocolate, lights and luminaries, and a chance for children to visit Santa. This event includes the Flat Frosties Scavenger Hunt. For more information go to
Smithsburg Tree Lighting and open house
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday December 5th 630 – 9 pm
WHERE: Veterans Park, 64 Water St, Smithsburg
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: An open house will be held at the Smithsburg Library following the tree lighting. Cookies, hot beverages, mini book sales and story time for all ages at 730pm. Free take home craft for children while supplies last.

A night of One Act Comedies
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Thursday, December 4, Friday, December 5th and Saturday, December 6th at 7 pm each night
WHERE: Boonsboro High School is located at 10 Campus Ave, Boonsboro.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Boonsboro High School Drama department will present a series of one act comedy plays. 4 plays will be presented Thursday, 4 different productions on Friday and then all 8 will be presented on Saturday.
COST Tickets are $5 a person and can be purchased at the door or by calling 301-766-8022 and asking for Michael Bair.
German Christmas
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Friday December 5th – with additional hours of 10 am to 4 pm Friday December 12th, Saturday, December 6th and 13th and then noon to 4 pm on Sundays December 7th and 14th
WHERE: Hager House
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: The Hager House will kick off their annual German Christmas celebration
COST Admission is $3, $2 for seniors ages 62 and older and students age 13 to 17, $1 for ages 6 to 12 and free for ages 5 and younger

Charlie Brown Christmas 2014
WHEN and WHAT TIME: Open Saturdays December 6 & 13 and Sunday December 7 & 14 from 3 to 8 pm and Tuesday December 9th from noon to 5
WHERE: Springfield Farm Barn, Williamsport
WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Come and check out more than 100 decorated trees filling the Barn on Springfield Farm with several surprises in the branches..  Be sure to check out the lights in the park as well
COST Admission is free.
